Which is better: Yoga or Gym? 12 reasons that will make you think Yoga is actually better than Gym

The primary difference between yoga exercise and the gym is the effect it has on the body. Yoga is good to all organs of the body; while, gym is effective to only some parts of the body.

With yoga exercise a person can look forward towards increased flexibility, toning and relaxation. You don’t need any fancy equipment, just some space around yourself to perform the various asanas. You save the travel effort and time required to go to a gym. You don’t feel the desire to skip yoga classes because of the convenience it offers. After a yoga session a person feels full of energy and healthy.

You need equipment for gym workout and also you cannot do it at house. Gyms are carried out by performing exercises with heavy weights, such as pull-ups, push-ups, etc. A gym work out usually has only physical gains and rarely offers mental stimulation. Gym workout target only the specific parts of the human body. Gym also involves the daily exercises such as the going for a walk, exercising and running.

Below are the 12 Reasons why Yoga is actually better than Gym:

1. Everyone can easily perform yoga exercise

No matter your age group or your wellness, you can perform yoga. Yoga has even been found to help people who have health problems. Gym exercises , in basic, are not designed to be healing or senior-friendly.

2. Yoga exercise boosts concentration level

Throughout a practice of yoga, you focus on the breath, the good posture and the gaze. Outside distractions are tuned out. While you can try and do this at the gym, this focus and peaceful atmosphere is not exactly encouraged with all the other distractions around, like loud music, TVs, etc.

3. Yoga brings acceptance

Yoga assists you think you’re best the way you are-with your skills and your deficiencies. It’s right the things they tell — yoga exercise is not about self-improvement, it’s about self-acceptance. Gym classes, specifically bootcamp style classes, are more likely to  get you feeling just like a failure if you can’t do every thing.

4. Yoga exercise is about concentrating on yourself

Most yoga centers don’t actually have wall mirrors so you’re forced to think about exactly where your body is and what each muscle and limb is doing, while gym classes have wall mirrors for you to see-and worry about-what many other people else are working on.

5. Yoga exercise will help to make you slim

By stretching your muscle group as you’re strengthening them, your body shape will obtain a slimmer appearance. A gym workout filled with weights will cause your muscles to bulk up.

6. Yoga exercise is more helpful

Yoga exercise depends on your own-your entire body-for strengthening. Gym centers use dumbbells and other equipment. Through different asanas, your full body turns into well toned and more powerful by using your own entire body weight as ‘weights’. By using only weights or other equipment, muscles are isolated and have to be worked individually in order to benefit, which takes  overall  much more time.

7. You can perform yoga exercise anywhere you want to

Yoga is a different experience in a yoga centers, but you can easily perform yoga at house, outdoors or in small places. All you need to have is about 6 feet by 4 feet and you will have your own yoga place. A gym work out will take more equipment and more space.

8. Yoga exercise is kinder to the human body

This does not mean yoga exercise is not powerful. Just talk to any person who practices Ashtanga. Yoga exercise builds heat and works your muscles, but you’re performing what your overall body allows you to perform and not trying to lift weights and pound on the joints-both of which can generate harm. Yoga also stretches as you move through the positions and a good yoga practice builds on itself to prepare the body for the next position.

9. Yoga helps reduce your cramps and pains

A gym exercise routine enhances them. Yoga slowly stretches muscles and opens the energy channels of the human body. The better overall flexibility keeps muscles and joint parts lubricated and strong. Dumbbells and fitness treadmill machine can cause stress which leads to pain and injuries.

10. Yoga will help you inhale and exhale better

During times of stress, it’s easy to forget to breathe-really breathe, and not just short breaths. Without deep breaths, it’s harder to think clearly and fatigue can set in. Yoga exercise focuses on the breath so that when you need it most, those deep breaths are the norm.

11. Yoga exercise is relaxing

We move through practice with a peaceful, relaxed expression. No grunting, no losing weights, no clenched teeth like you see in gymnasium. The overall goal is to release stress throughout the body and mind.

12. Yoga exercise lowers anxiety

Many yoga exercise classes involve meditation, or at least Savasana. It provides you an opportunity to clean up the mind of the worries of all day. With practice, difficult circumstances can be dealt with more easily and overall stress levels lower.  Gym along with the noisy music and shiny lights is more likely to rise your stress and anxiety.
